Mow Down Pollution

Boulder County, in partnership with the Regional Air Quality Council, is offering a lawn mower exchange program at Eco Cycle in Boulder June 3rd. You can help get rid of that grimy old gas powered lawn mower, and replace it with a brand new electric one! Electric mowers are sold at wallet-friendly pricing an extra $50 discount is available when you bring an old gas powered lawn mower to recycle.

Gas powered lawn mowers and lawn equipment contribute to nearly 10% of the Denver and Boulder area’s ozone pre-cursor emissions. By switching to an electric lawn mower, and electric lawn and garden tools, you can make a positive impact on our air quality and your health! So far 334 old gasoline mowers have been recycled; 45,336 pounds of pollutants reduced and over 6 dumpsters filled with old gas mowers have been filled.
